Sign-up an Account on Barter.

Follow the below process to create a barter account;

  • First of all, go-to your app store (Google play store or Apple's) to download the Barter App.
  • Install and open the barter app
  • Click Create An Account
  • A registration form will be available in that app
  • Fill in all the essential information needed such as your full name, DoB, Email Address, Phone Number etc.
  • If you drop your WhatsApp number, an otp will be sent to it. And it can also be sent to your email address or as a message.
  • Enter the otp in the provided box and tao continue
  • Enter you Bank Verification Number (BVN)
  • Choose your preferred password
  • Tap on submit to complete the registration process.

Do note that your provided full name and date of birth (DoB) must correspond with the once (details) on your bank verification number (bvn).

After the complete registration, an instant barter wallet will be created for you in your local currency. For instance, if you create barter account with Nigerian Phone Number, a Naira Barter Wallet will be opened for you.

Login to your Barter Account

To login for the first time, you will need to confirm your BVN and DoB. Follow the below steps to sign-in into your barter account.

  • Go-to barter login page (https://barter.me/login)
  • Enter your Email Address or Phone Number
  • Enter your Password
  • Then tap on Log in.

The next page will let you confirm your bank verification number and your date of birth. Confirm it and sign-in successfully into your barter account.

Barter Virtual Cards

Barter Virtual (USD) Dollar Card.

Barter Virtual Cards are digital or online cards, when funded through barter wallet, it can be used to make any purchases online internationally and locally. In addition, the barter virtual cards are always MasterCard products.

While the Naira Debit Card is created by default if you're a Nigerian immediately you finished your barter account registration. However, the usd dollar card is needed to be generated to do all your online transaction that involves dollars.

How to Create a Virtual USD Dollar Card.

Follow this simple steps to generate your barter virtual US dollar card on barter app.

  • Login to your barter account
  • In the dashboard, tap on Card
  • On the next page, and at the right corner of your dashboard, tap on New Card
  • Select Card Type: Virtual Card
  • Swipe to choose virtual card or Gift Card
  • Customize your card by choosing your preferable colour and name that will be on it.
  • Enter amount you want to be on the card. It can be $100
  • Then tap on "Create Card" to generate US dollar virtual card on your barter account.

Do note that you will charge an issuance fees' ranging from $2 to $5, and this fees will be charged from your barter naira account.

How to Send Money to Nigeria using Barter

According to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) instructions to all International Money Transfer Operators (IMTOs) that any money sent from abroad shouldn't be converted to naira, that recipient should receive the money in cash. So all money send from abroad, be it dollars, euro or pounds, will be available for pick-up over the counter.

However, USD sent from abroad using Barter will be available for Cash Pick-up. That's the only delivery method that allows recipients to physically collect cash from a convenient pick-up location nationwide. Please note that cash can only be collected in USD in line with CBN directives.

How to Send (USD) Dollars to Nigeria using Barter.

Follow the below steps to initiate (USD) dollar cash pick up to Nigeria using Barter.

  • Login to your Barter Mobile App or login via web
  • In your dashboard, tap on Send Money
  • Next, select Send Money Abroad
  • Enter Amount you wish to send
  • Select USD Cash Pick Up option
  • Next, Enter the receiver's information such as Full Name, Email Address, Residential Address and Phone Number.
  • Select Pick Up Location. UBA and Zenith Bank currently available.
  • Check your input information whether they input correctly.
  • Enter your Barter Account Transactions Pin
  • Then tap on Send Money to complete your transactions.
  • A Unique Reference Code will be generated
  • Send/share the code with the receiver

This code will be used by the receiver at the pick up location to cashout the money successfully. Also, do note that the name provided when doing the transaction must match the receiver's name written on his/her valid government issued ID card, as this will be required to confirm the receiver's identity at the pick up location.

Request Money Features on Barter.

Barter Request Money let you request money from another barter users on the app. This work in the sense that barter will synchronized your contact list and through that you can easily detect people on your contact that are using Barter.

In addition, if you don't have the person phone number on your contact list, you can simply type in the number or email his/her registered email address.

How to Request Money on Barter

Follow these steps to request money from other barter user.

  • Login to your barter account
  • Tap on Request Money
  • Enter recipient phone number or email address
  • Input amount you wish to request
  • Tap on "Request Money"
  • Input your transactions pin
  • Then tap on confirm to complete the request

That's are the simple steps to request money from other barter users. The recipient will get a request alert, however, h/she can accept or decline the request. To accept, 

Here is How to Accept/Pay Requested Money on Barter

To accepting after gotten the money request alert,

  • Login to your Barter Account
  • Tap on the alert
  • Tap on Yes, accept request
  • Input your your transactions pin
  • Then click on confirm to complete the transaction.

Do not that, after the acceptance of the requested money,it cannot be refund.

How to Withdraw from Barter Wallet/Account

To send or transfer from your Barter wallet to your local bank account or your Nigeria Bank Account is a very easy task. All you need to do is to follow the below instructions to seamlessly withdraw or cashout your funds from barter account.

  • Sign in to your barter account
  • Click on Send Money
  • Then Send to Bank Account
  •  Input Amount you want to withdraw
  • Input your account number
  • Select Bank Name
  • Type your purpose of sending
  • Enter your transactions pin and click confirm to complete your transactions

Do note that a 25Naira withdrawal fees will be charged for every withdrawal you made on your barter account.

How to Add Barter Virtual (USD) Dollar Card to Apple Music.

You can simply add barter US dollar card to your Apple Music. To do that, follow the below instructions;

  • Go-to your app store
  • Click on your profile icon
  • Tap on your apple ID
  • Tap on Country/Region
  • Then Tap on change County/Region
  • Choose the United States as your Country/Region
  • Input your Barter Dollar Information including Card Number, CVV and Expire Date.
